Speed reading

During my unemployed days a few years ago, I spent many days "speed reading" at the local bookstore. By that I mean reading a book quickly, sometimes from cover to cover, to try to suck as much useful knowledge out of the book as possible. Of course this is no way to read a book but you've got to be creative when you have a limited amount of time and a serious shortage of $ to spend on books.

I actually got a kick out of "speed reading." You get to read the latest and sometimes the greatest titles in the market. You can also become an instant expert in an area in a very short time.

Tonight, after dinner, I was only planning to check out the magazines. But I saw this book in the business books section -- The Bear Necessities of Business : Building a Company with Heart. The book is very easy to read. The cover is cute too :) I speed-read this from cover to cover. A couple things I learned from the book -- writing business plans and listening to the kids.
